The Keywave2 silicone playing surface is at the forefront of the improvements to Seaboard RISE 2. We deeply appreciate all the people around the world who believe in this vision and are excited for the Seaboard community to continue to grow and thrive.” This launch marks the transition of MPE from a fledgling, peripheral project to an established and mature category, which is becoming increasingly central to how digital music is made. It is also an experience transformed by over a decade of development in Equator2, the world’s leading dedicated MPE synth, plus the creation of a whole ecosystem of compatible software and workflow solutions across the industry. “RISE 2 is easier to play, more durable and a more beautiful, expressive experience than ever before. “Developing new instruments is a long-process, and today is a major milestone in our journey with the Seaboard,” said Lamb, CEO of Luminary ROLI. Now, Seaboard RISE 2 is another big step forward in realizing the technology’s extraordinary power. Limited software compatibility and a playing surface less familiar to experienced keyboardists proved to be a barrier for some musicians. However, when Seaboard RISE was originally released the ecosystem surrounding the instrument was still in its infancy. The cult classic has also enjoyed mainstream success across TV and film, from La La Land to Stranger Things. The multi-award-winning Seaboard RISE model, first launched by ROLI in 2015, is beloved by musicians, composers, and producers alike. The Seaboard is the best-selling MPE controller of all time. The Seaboard’s development was pivotal to ROLI’s pioneering work to help establish the field of expressive electronic instruments and its enabling standard, MIDI Polyphonic Expression (MPE). It has been used by a long list of artists as diverse as Hans Zimmer, AR Rahman, Jordan Rudess, Grimes, will.i.am, RZA and 40, and featured in many of the last decade’s biggest hits. Invented by Roland Lamb in 2009, the Seaboard is one of the most significant new musical interfaces developed in the past 30 years. A limited run has been released for preorder, exclusively on, for $1,399 (£1,099, €1,299). The RISE 2 launch marks the first time in two years that the industry-changing instrument has been available for sale. Today, pioneering music tech brand ROLI launches a refined and reimagined Seaboard, the Seaboard RISE 2.

Yes very similar, feels a bit plasticy in my hands, quite muted in feel. >When you say the Vcore feels like a toy, do you also think the P07 feels this way? I am 31 and can get a few games off of a 19 year old coach who currently has a 5.1 LTA rating (not sure what that is in NTRP terms). I hit the ball big and deep, I tend to play quite aggressive with big serves and the occasional volley. I am in the UK and do not compete in singles so do not have a rating, I can tell you I have an all court game playing mostly on artificial grass. I would like to demo the VCORE 95 next but this is not currently available on the EU website. The big downside for me and probably the reason I will not purchase this racket is the feeling in my arm midway through the set, I felt a twinge of pain in my forearm just below the elbow, very similar to the pain the Pure Strike gives me. Did a lot more volleying too and it felt amazing, knifed them away with speed and precision, serve was great too, I could really place the ball or blast with more power depending on what I wanted to do. Played with the VC98 again tonight and wow what a great stick, not sure if the string bed has loosened up since last week but I found so much more power tonight all be it with different balls Slazenger Wimbledon (last week) vs Wilson US Open. Could be a good little platform racket to customise to your needs. As you would expect, the 16 x 19 has much better spin potential than the 18 x 20. In summary really easy to swing but lacks weight and power that I am used to. The Pure Strike 16 x 19 has everything, control, feel, spin, stability, and power, all in a lightweight 305g frame that’s easy to use. No elbow pain so far, seems to have a bit more flex but not massively different. Really enjoyed this racket with its manoeuvrability. P17 - Played with Hyper-G all over and also tried VS gut in the mains RPM Blast in the crosses, Also added roughly 4g of weight at 3/9 plus an overgrip to bring the overall weight up. If you didn't like the PO7 you won't enjoy this racket, feels like a toy, not a lot of feel in general. I have played with the Pure Strike 98 16x19 (P07) and today played with the new VCORE 98. In the past I have also reviewed and tested the 100 sq.in version and the 16×19. Really easy to swing, when you connect well with the ball it sometimes feels like the PO7 but not as consistent. This is the review of the Babolat Pure Strike 18×20, endorsed by the one and only Dominic Thiem, one of the most hard hitting players on tour. I feel like I need to add at least 10g of lead tap, 5 to the hoop and 5 to the handle. VCORE 98 - Demo came with a fresh set of Poly Tour Strike, the racket feels very similar to the PO7 but not quite as stiff which is good for my arm but the power is lacking because of it. Really enjoyed this racket with it's manoeuvrability and easy power but it has given me some serious forearm and elbow pain even with the gut mains so have had to put it down! Also the weight of shot is just not as good as my main racket which is the RF97. The new Pure Strike line is specifically designed to deliver sharp control with an exceptional feel for offensive performance players who want to hit hard with full confidence.I have played with the Pure Strike 98 16x19 (P07) and today played with the new VCORE 98. The benchmark for aggressive hard hitters. Weighted at 305g (unstrung) for unique stability on every shot. Massive spin thanks to the 16×19 string pattern. New sharp control combining exceptional feel and dynamic control. Features a 98 square inch headsize and thin 21/23/21mm section. A racquet suited for the Modern Game, the new Babolat Pure Strike captures the essence of modernity, both in design and playability. The Montefortino helmet was derived from the Celtic style. They usually had a plume plug on the tip of the helmet. These helmets were made of brass or bronze with a convex shape, with a small elongation at the back of the neck. Initially, the Montefortino type helmet was used, which was used from the 3rd century BCE to the 1st century CE. Centurions and senior officers wore helmets with three feathers (crosswise comb) or a horse’s mantle.ĭuring the march, the helmets were worn on the right side of the breast, on a thong placed around the neck. Their combs were usually parallel from ear to ear. The legionary’s helmet was decorated with a plume with short feathers ( iuba or crista), usually during parades or at times when it was necessary to impress the enemy. Legionnaires wore shawls or scarves around their necks to prevent the armor from rubbing against the naked body. A neck protector was attached to the helmet. On the sides there were movable cheek visors ( buccula), which were connected with each other with a thong, tied under the chin. The top of the helmet was strengthened by knobs, rings or a button made of metal that served decorative purposes. It was made of leather covered with a metal sheet. This also applied to helmets, which underwent numerous changes and modifications resulting from the use of materials and production techniques as well as functions (helmets of legionaries, helmets of auxiliary units, cavalry helmets).Ī Roman helmet ( cassis) protected the head of a Roman infantryman, tied under the chin with a leather strap. This was due to the professionalization of the army (more or less from the time of Marius’s reform), in which efforts were made to unify the offensive and defensive armaments of the legionaries. Then they started mass-producing their own helmets ( cassis). Initially, the Romans used Gallic helmets, hence the name Galea (full name cassis-galea). Rome’s contacts with Africa and Far East. With the other problems you've been having with your daughter have you all had any support?Has she been refered to see someone to find out why she's being violent and abusive? Oh Hazel I really feel for you hunni:sadhug.I know it's really raw right now and everyone's obvously really angry but throwing her out is not going to help the situation at all. She's only 14 so still very much a child and that shows in her actions to have sex in your house whilst your down stairs shows someone that's very emotionally young.įirst things first I think you and your daughter need to sit down and have a proper talk together, preferably with no one else in the house. You need to find out if they used contraception if you don't allready know.Make sure also that it was consentual.Ask your daughter about how she feels about the boyfriend and how he feels about her.Tell her that you want her to be able to talk to you about anything, that your there for her and that just because she's older now that you still care about her and worry about her. Please do not throw her out though, this will only ignite any insecurities she does have or any feelings of being unloved. I think a talk is needed more than a confrontation, understanding why she is behaving this way will help you both a lot in my opinion. I would sit her down & explain why you were concerned she was having sex, all of the risks of the stds, pregnancy, asking her why does she feel she needs to have sex at this age, maybe she is under peer pressure, perhaps she feels bad about herself so she is having sex to make herself feel loved and wanted, believe me this happens, sometimes young girls think that that is love, it's hard to understand at this age. If it were me I wouldn't be flying off the handle, I just think that gets their back up ( I talk from my own experience of myself). I don't know if other stuff has gone on, im going on based on this post. Personally I feel wanting her gone from the house based on her having sex in her sisters bed is a little harsh. To see how one variable affects another. When to Use Scatter ChartsĪside from scientific studies, there are a few times when businesses may decide to use a scatter chart: However, do not have more than two trend lines, as this can be confusing. These lines help to make trends very clear to the viewer. These lines are generally plotted by the software, although they can be added manually. Consider adding size and color variations to dots in order to include more relevant data in a way that keeps it easily understood. Unlike other chart types, if done correctly, scatter charts are not confusing with more data. With scatter plots, it is often better to include more data and variables, not less. If there is reason to suspect they are incorrect, or if they do not add value to your story, it could be wise to exclude them. Keep the scale evenly distributed across both axes. Be very careful when deciding if an accordion is needed or not. While there may be some instances where a scale accordion is required so that the data is presented more accurately, these instances are few. There are a few simple tips to make sure your scatter chart presents information cleanly and without any distortion to the data. A trend line is drawn on the chart to emphasize the direction and strength of the trend. In order to clearly show these relationships and trends, many scatter charts utilize trend lines. A weak correlation will have more data points spread out. Weak or strong: The stronger the correlation is, the closer the dots will be together.Linear or nonlinear: A linear-straight-correlation can be formed through the data points, but a non-linear correlation might show a curved relationship. There are other patterns to be found within a scatter chart: An even scale is created on both axes, and then a mark or dot is made at the point that represents the intersection of the two coordinates. The X is the horizontal line with the independent variable and the Y is the vertical with the dependent variable. The result would be the same under both cases.Like most other graph or chart types, a scatterplot has an X and a Y axis. Optionally, you may capture the data using Pandas DataFrame. So far, you have seen how to capture the dataset in Python using lists (step 3 above). Optionally: Create the Scatter Diagram using Pandas DataFrame Run the code in Python, and you’ll get the scatter diagram. Plt.xlabel('Unemployment Rate', fontsize=14) Plt.title('Unemployment Rate Vs Index Price', fontsize=14) Plt.scatter(unemployment_rate, index_price, color='green') Step 4: Create the scatter diagram in Python using Matplotlibįor this final step, you may use the template below in order to create a scatter diagram in Python: import matplotlib.pyplot as pltįor our example: import matplotlib.pyplot as plt If you run the above code in Python, you’ll get the following lists with the required information: You can capture the above data in Python using lists: unemployment_rate = You can accomplish this goal using a scatter diagram. The ultimate goal is to depict the relationship between the unemployment_rate and the index_price. Next, gather the data to be used for the scatter diagram.įor example, let’s say that you have the following dataset: unemployment_rate Step 2: Gather the data for the scatter diagram You may check this guide for the steps to install a module in Python using pip. If you haven’t already done so, install the matplotlib module using the following command (under Windows): pip install matplotlib Steps to Create a Scatter Diagram in Python using Matplotlib Step 1: Install the Matplotlib module In the next section, you’ll see the steps to create a scatter diagram using a practical example. The following syntax can be used to create a scatter diagram in Python using Matplotlib: import matplotlib.pyplot as plt Because, you know, they're so super-secret. The data rate will always remain the same, even if the voltages of the RS-232 and TTL signals are different. The minimum and maximum voltages of RS-232 signals is +/-13V, and only 0 to 3.3V/5V for TTL signals.Ģ. The '1's and '0's are inverted from each other. What is a serial cable As you might expect, serial cables connect two devices to enable data transfer from one to another via a serial communication protocol, a method of data transfer that involves sending data sequentially, one bit at a time. True or false: Data is sent from a PC's RS-232 port at 9600 bits-per-second (bps), it's converted to TTL by a MAX232 before reaching a microcontroller. What are the two main differences between RS-232 and TTL signals?Ģ. With the above information at hand, here's a quick quiz to test your shiny new knowledge:ġ. Less expensive solutions, like our RS-232 Shifter, use transistors or inverters to flip the signals, and charge pumps to get the voltages high enough to be RS-232 compliant: Manhattan USB to RS232 Serial Adapter Converter Long 18 Inch Cable Cord, 24 AWG - Connects Serial Device to a USB Port, FTDI Chipset, Compatible with Window, Linux, Mac 3 Year Mfg Warranty205153. Maxim IC just happened to be the first to market with this neato device (decades ago!) so out of habit, we call all ICs that do similar jobs 'MAX-232s'. There are many generic derivatives of the MAX-232. The most common, and easiest solution is just plugging a MAX-232 in between the two devices: There are a handful of solutions to this problem of voltage converting and inverting. To connect these two ports you not only have to invert the signals, but you also have to deal with regulating the potentially harmful RS-232 voltages to something that won't destroy a microcontroller's serial pins. This is a standard 6 (2 meter) straight-through serial cable with a female 9-pin d-sub connector on one end and a male on the other. So, you may see where the problem lies in interfacing these two signals. This timing diagram shows both a TTL (bottom) and RS-232 signal sending 0b01010101 This means that an RS-232 signal can generally travel longer physical distances than their TTL counterparts, while still providing a reliable data transmission. The 1.80 m plug to socket DE-9 serial cable allows you to easy connect, in serial interfaces (RS232/R485) your SPECTRE Industry readers (SMI and SLI) and. The more extreme voltages of an RS-232 signal help to make it less susceptible to noise, interference, and degradation. On most PCs these signals swing from -13 to +13V. By the RS-232 standard a logic high ('1') is represented by a negative voltage – anywhere from -3 to -25V – while a logic low ('0') transmits a positive voltage that can be anywhere from +3 to +25V. The two differ solely at a hardware level. Serial cables are computer cables used to transfer information between two devices using a serial communication protocol like PCs to monitors, printers. RS-232 signals are similar to your microcontroller's serial signals in that they transmit one bit at a time, at a specific baud rate, with or without parity and/or stop bits. The serial port on your computer (if it's lucky enough to have one, they're quickly becoming a relic) complies with the RS-232 ( Recommended Standard 232) telecommunications standard. A logic high ('1') is represented by Vcc, while a logic low ('0') is 0V. Serial communication at a TTL level will always remain between the limits of 0V and Vcc, which is often 5V or 3.3V. This method of serial communication is sometimes referred to as TTL serial (transistor-transistor logic). UARTs transmit one bit at a time at a specified data rate (i.e. Serial cables may use D-subminiature connectors, like DB9 or DB25 pins, but other connectors are used. Most microcontrollers these days have built in UARTs (universally asynchronous receiver/transmitter) that can be used to receive and transmit data serially. A serial cable is a cable that can be used to transfer information between two devices using serial communication, often using the RS-232 standard. These two devices are compatible from a software perspective, however you can't just hook a microcontroller up to a computer because the hardware interfaces are not compatible. Serial is very easy to implement, and it allows you to send/receive any data you need from your microcontroller to a computer's serial port so it can be viewed using a terminal emulator. I = r i = i || function () ,lpTag.init()): of the tools we use most when debugging our projects is serial input/output. Out of Production Products - Find Your Upgrade.
